While Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is offers some of the most unique accommodations on Disney property, many guests don’t realize that it also offers spectacular dining options. While many of the resorts on property offer pretty standard fare, because of its theme, the Lodge offers some very interesting options for dining. Most guests probably haven’t had much experience with African food and if they haven’t they’re in for a treat. The restaurants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are second to none.
Disney World’s amusement parks offer a wide variety of rides and shows, but one should not fail to investigate the further entertainment in its hotels and resorts. Its resorts are granted a vast amount of resources by the company. Consequently, patrons can expect to be inspired and impressed by the quality and options available at its hotels. Disney’s resorts are in many ways impressive on their own merits and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is no exception.
At the fine dining end of the spectrum, the Lodge offers Jiko a signature restaurant with a variety of African options. It’s particularly noteworthy for its wide range of wines from the African continent. It is considered by many to be one of the most romantic and charming places to eat on property.
Kidani Village, the vacation club section of the resort, has Sanaa, another African themed restaurant. From this location you can watch the animals of the resort during your dining experience, another highly unique experience.
The resort also has Boma, which is a favorite among many guests. Boma is a buffet featuring everything from chicken fingers to pap and sheba, as well as “potatoes with Afritude.” This can be just the ticket for a family who has both picky and adventurous eaters. The resort also has the Mara, a quick service restaurant that still manages to offer some of the favorite African foods for sale.
It is also noteworthy that none of these options require that you be a guest of the resort. You can partake of these fine restaurants without even staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Of course given the kind of experience that is available, there’s nothing wrong with staying there as well.
For guests who want something a little different, the restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge offer something for everyone. You can check out the wild animals that roam the grounds while eating anything from signature dining to a quick bite. For those who love food, and who doesn’t, this resort should not be missed.
