Just one year after the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provided Macedonian elementary and high schools with computer labs, internet access and intensive training, students in those schools have exceeded expectations in their creative use of these resources.
When USAID, which is part of the U.S. Mission to Macedonia, organized the "Best School Website Competition," response was overwhelming, with 159 primary and secondary schools participating.
"Through these websites, students and teachers share their knowledge and information about the programs, activities and accomplishments in their school, as well as their community," said U.S. Ambassador Gillian Milovanovic. "We hope the Ministry of Education makes this an annual competition."
